love insanity

what is it when I see you

wondering how I ever could

how I never even though

but even as I see

you cannot see

I watch from a distance

and people say I am nuts

but I wonder just if

just maybe

if the courage I can build

wondering if you even know

you don’t even see

how I feel

now I wonder if

I should be committed

just for thinking

just for seeing

just for following

but I turn around

before I can give myself away

wounds

some are small
some are large
some heal
others never do
some are seen
worn on the sleeve
others never show
driving deep
like a puncture
to the soul

Clapping Seals

Clapping like seals

as he speaks

taking us away

from a cleaner world

with promises of jobs

that disappeared

of jobs

that no longer exist

jobs

that are not coming back

jobs

that no matter what

have already made their way out

promising our portion of the pie

what will happen to us

what will happen to the world

with the seals

clapping and clapping

with no care in the world

we

People are the same

No mater where they are

no mater what

you

me

them

we

how can we be

so divided by Impression given

because of color

religion

or creed

we have the same color

when we bleed

we cry the same tears

when we grieve

we are the same

you and me

don’t rush to judge

by a first sight

Let Go

Holding on
tears falling down
knowing you don’t see
not because you don’t see
just because you don’t know
actions hurt
but words stick
just wanting to let go
waiting for the day
hoping for the day
needing to heal
but only one can do it
waiting to let go

Promises

you say you changed

you say I’m the one

with the issue

from a distance

I see your manipulative ways

and you grasping the straws

you say I’m the issue

I watch you fall apart

see you in denial

making promises

saying things changed

though they never did

My Addiction

Just to  see you there

hearing your voice

feeling your presence

being immersed

in everything you

no drug

no alcohol

could compare to

my only addiction

that can never be cured

my love of you

Abstraction

how is it you see

a different me

that seems to be

an abstraction of reality

but we are not that different

even though you never see

but please…don’t judge me

for what I believe

Sleep

sleep
need sleep
how can I quicken
the onslaught of sleep
it won’t come
until I get done
rush here
rush there
quickly solve
everyone at rest
me on my feet
until I pass out
exhausted
asleep

The Ride to Mashhad

Hopped on a train
On the way to Mashhad
Riding along the outskirts
Of the Capital city
Speed gradually increasing
Hearing the clump-clump of the tracks
The gentle sway of the train
Like rocking a babe to sleep

As we go the city turns to sand
Slowly disappearing
As if it turns to dust
Riding along hearing
The clump-clump, clump-clump
As the train runs down the track
Seeing the desert go on for miles
As if nothing else is there
Feeling the gradual climb

As we go north
Going through the dark tunnel
Not knowing what is on the other side
Closing my eyes I look up and see
The inscription on the cabin door
This was an old Russian train
From the sixties
I close my eyes to the rhythmic sounds
Of the train running down

As day turns to night
We come to a stop
Just passengers coming and going
Not my stop
The train gradually starts again
Picking up speed
The sway puts me back again
To a semi-peaceful slumber

I awake and see the day
The train gradually slows
The clump-clump seems
To be louder now
We are closer to the city
The sway not as soothing
But is still there
The train made it again
Safe and sound
To the city of Mashhad.
